Green Weeks at Matona

Our Green Week has officially started! With our voucher code: GREENWEEK to get 20% off our entire collection (excluding already reduced items). In return, we will donate €5 from each purchase to Mission Erde, an organisation dedicated to preserving the Earth's biodiversity and actively protecting habitats.

What happens with the donations?

Out of all the wonderful projects, we chose Mission Erde's Ghost Net Project. Because of our strong connection to our country of production, Portugal, and the many days and hours we have spent as a family on the Atlantic coast, we want to contribute to the preservation of the world's largest ecosystem.

To protect our oceans and preserve biodiversity, Mission Erde is ridding the oceans of ghost nets, which are death traps for many animals.

Mission Erde

Mission Erde e.V. wants to raise awareness for nature, animals and sustainability, but also to take action - where it burns! To this end, Robert Marc Lehmann's organisation is involved in a variety of conservation projects around the world, supporting local environmental organisations and individuals who are committed to protecting a species or habitat. Only together can we make a difference!

What are ghost nets?

Fishing nets that come loose from the boat, gill nets that are lost or fishing gear that is deliberately thrown overboard remain in the sea and continue to fish for decades as ghost nets - not only do millions of tonnes of plastic end up in the sea every year, but many animals become entangled in them and die a miserable death.
